Comics and visual culture centre

Only a few years ago Moscow was a place of no particular interest for comic book lovers - perhaps only as the place of origin of comic book villains. Today there is a whole community of those interested in this art which is relevant and full of potential.

One of the best ways to become its part in Moscow is to visit the Comics and visual culture centre of the Russian State Library for Young Adults. It's a well-equipped, comfortable space filled with comic books - there you can spend hours mindlessly browsing or contemplating conceptual differences between different comic universes. Those who would like to turn their hobby into something more can participate in art workshops or even the comic book drawing school. The centre regularly holds lectures on the history and evolution of this kind of art and has even created two clubs devoted to western and oriental cultures - comic books and manga respectively.

Neskuchniy Sad

Neskuchniy Sad is an island of tranquility in the busy Moscow area of Leninskiy prospekt. Known even to many Muscovites only by  name, it has a lot to offer to foreigners tired of the urban life.

Visit its peaceful shade on the right bank of the Moskva river and you will see that Neskuchniy Sad boasts as many beauties as a landscape park possibly can: alleys, wildernesses, fountains, gazebos, ponds and 18-19th century buildings. The park occupies the area of several estates that used to belong to aristocrat families of old Russia and up to this day you can almost go back in time to those days.
